That itch...

Mon Sep 14, 2009, 9:42 PM
Okay, I know I said I was leaving for a while, but, recently I've had considerably more time on my hands. So in the last couple of weeks there's been a certain itch returning and I find my mouse wandering more often toward that spiral icon...

I honestly thought I would be gone for much longer, but perhaps I shouldn't have been so hasty to call it "indefinite."

I haven't made anything at all yet, but I know that if this mood keeps hitting me something will eventually come out of it, and if it does I'd like to share it... I may also try to get into the community again but, we'll see. What I will do is get better about responding, I know I've been slacking there for a long time...

So yeah, I had a moment of, uhh, artistic despair, I suppose, and wasn't really thinking clearly about the future.

So... hello again. :bucktooth:

Farewell

Fri Jun 19, 2009, 12:03 AM
I'm not really sure how to say this, but... I think I'm pretty much done with dA. At least for now. I had a good time making fractals and being part of the community, but now my interest in fractals has waned and I hardly log in here any more. So I figured I would make it more or less official. Right now I have no plans to continue making fractals or to visit this account anymore.

I don't expect to be gone forever, just indefinitely.

So thanks to everyone who's been my friend over the years(?!) and I hope that one day I'll be active on here again. In the meantime though, goodbye. :(

DD + Lacking Inspiration

Wed Dec 31, 2008, 4:08 PM
Well, I got another DD. Thanks so much to ^Platinus for featuring Reality Unreavels. Three daily deviations is more than I ever hoped for, and it's a huge honour.

As for my long, unplanned, unannounced hiatus, I'm simply experiencing a very long and persistent dry spell. That + lack of motivation = I'm not on here very much. I hope it will be over soon, though, and I'll be back to submitting fractals as often as ever.

Now to press the send button and transform my page into a dull colorless blah. :\

Some thoughts...

Needless Rivalry

So as some of you may have noticed, I've started testing my skills with UF. Which has gotten me thinking of the rivalry between Apophysis and UltraFractal. Now I know this has been talked about before, but I would just like to vent a bit on the subject.

Alright, so you've got these two fractal programs, both amazing in their respective capacities. They can both be used to make wonderful fractals of two very different types. Now the way I see it, the fractal community has become (or always has been) rather divided on the programs... Apo artists tend to only fav and comment on other Apo works, and UF artists on UF works. Of course there are exceptions, but this is the general feeling I get.

Now I'm trying to get started with UltraFractal and I feel like I have to build a whole new set of watchers who will appreciate that. I just really wish there could be more appreciation of both programs from artists on either side. I will even admit to having been a little bit anti UF in the past myself, but that's changed over the past couple months as I've started really taking a look at some UF artist's galleries. The fact is: It's all fractal art... so why the polarity?

Anyways, I guess that's all I've got to say. I know there's nothing new here, but like I said, I feel like venting. I'm not used to writing this kind of thing either so, forgive me for the somewhat poor structure. :bucktooth:

Thanks for reading this far. =P

Features

Well, in honor of my departure from pure Apophysis, I've decided to feature some non-apo fractals. :D

Hope you enjoy these!
